Mission
ResearchItaly is the online research magazine of the Italian Ministry of University and Research. The site ‒ available in Italian and English ‒ is designed to showcase, promote and enhance Italy’s research and innovation activities and results at national and international level, and to inform users about what publicly funded research can produce in the various fields of knowledge.
The aim of ResearchItaly is to highlight the role that researchers play in responding to the great challenges of our time, stressing the importance of the scientific method and describing the potential impact of research on the lives of citizens and on Italy’s society and economy. The site also aims to serve as a useful tool for the various research and innovation players by providing information on funding opportunities, official documents, initiatives of interest, successful public-private collaborations, prospects and models to be replicated in the field of research, innovation and technology transfer.
Aimed at different audiences – citizens, students, researchers, public and private stakeholders – ResearchItaly intends to highlight the added value of research and its impact on society, bringing young people closer to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects, and encouraging dialogue and cooperation between national and international research groups, also with a view to encouraging new collaborations, in line with the ambition of creating a European Research Area.
Content is divided into sections ‒ News, Events, Projects, Success Stories, Interviews ‒ and developed under the coordination of the Directorate General for Research of the Ministry of University and Research.
News, events and feature articles on scientific advances and research results are arranged by topic area according to the six major research and innovation areas identified in the National Research Programme and in line with the Clusters of Horizon Europe, the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation: Health; Humanities, Creativity, Social Transformation, Inclusive Society; Social Systems Safety; Digital, Industry, Aerospace; Climate, Energy, Sustainable Mobility; Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, Environment.
