The first of September 2023 is the deadline to apply for the call launched by the European Commission for this year’s Industry 5.0 Award dedicated to projects that can considerably contribute to making European industry more human-centric, sustainable and resilient through the development of innovative technologies, industrial processes or new business models to be integrated in the industrial context.
The award, established in collaboration with the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA), the MANUFUTURE platform, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), aims at giving visibility to initiatives whose results contribute to the Commission’s priorities with regard to green and digital transition and social equity, with a vision of the future.
Eligible projects must have obtained funding from the Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe or European Institute of Innovation and Technology programmes and have officially started after 31 August 2018, and should cover different industrial sectors and geographical areas.
In October, in Brussels, the three finalists will be invited to present their projects to a high-level independent jury consisting of representatives of industry, civil society, social partners and academia. The winner will receive communication support and visibility on the European Commission’s channels, including social media publicity and an article in the Horizon Magazine.
