The national research body Area Science Park is organizing an important international conference entitled “Pandemic preparedness: Achievements, current challenges, and new frontiers” that will be held in Trieste from 11 to 13 November 2024.
The event, organized in collaboration with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology – ICGEB within the PRP@CERIC project funded under RRNP Next Generation EU funds, allocated to Research Infrastructures, aims at providing an overview of our capability of addressing the challenges of future pandemics.
To develop innovative and effective response strategies, international experts will join to share their knowledge on emerging and re-emerging viruses and their potential pandemic risk, thus encouraging networking to develop synergies and multidisciplinary cooperation.
Several disciplines can apply to the study of pathogens, including artificial intelligence, virology, instrumental biology, genomics, clinical diagnostics, infectious and zoonotic diseases.
The main topics covered during the event include diagnostics, epidemiology, monitoring, drug discovery and preventive approaches in a context of international cooperation, to address the challenges of (re)emerging infectious diseases together.
The conference, which is open to expert researchers, university professors, physicians, healthcare staff, as well as young researchers who take their first steps in pathogen research, includes thematic plenary sessions, oral presentations and poster sessions.
To participate as a speaker, an abstract for an oral presentation or a poster should be submitted by 15 June 2024 on the event website, where it is also possible to register by 31 August (early bird) and 31 October (regular).
