Applications for the third European Innovation Procurement Awards (EUIPA), one of the prizes supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC) together with the European Commission under Horizon Europe, are open until 17 August 2023.
The competition targets public and private buyers that promote innovative procurement solutions in one of the Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. The awards aim to demonstrate how innovation procurement positively transforms the economy by not only creating new and sustainable markets, but also by tackling societal challenges such as climate change.
This year the contest will award six prizes in total for the two categories –Innovation procurement initiative and Facing societal challenges “green energy transition” – of 75,000 euros, 50,000 euros and 25,000 euros for the first, second and third ranked, respectively, in each category.
The applicants will be evaluated, by a jury of high-level independent experts, based on the degree of transformation, uptake, collaboration and societal impact of the proposed solutions. The awarded project must relate to completed or ongoing initiatives started after 1 January 2018.
Further information about application requirements is described in the Rules of Contest.
