Palermo University and Bio4Dreams, a startup incubator operating in Life Science, have recently signed a protocol of understanding aimed at promoting scientific research results and developing new innovative entrepreneurial initiatives.
According to Massimo Midiri, Palermo University rector, “the promotion of technology transfer is a strategic asset that needs to be strengthened, by encouraging existing University programmes in order to further enhance the project capabilities of the different research teams operating in the academic community to become increasingly competitive at the local, national and European levels.”
The agreement is a further step in the implementation of a complex system with the Technology Transfer Centre of the University of Palermo bridging the gap between the University and enterprises to make the exchange of knowledge easier, to improve contacts with investors and to support the growth of startups.
Bio4Dreams will provide their management and financial skills, as well as their national and international networks, to University researchers “in order to actively support their initiatives and potential thus ensuring market access to their research products which can grow and bring value in Sicily,” added Elisabetta Borello, Bio4Dreams Co-Founder, VP Strategy & External Relation.
