On 11 and 12 December 2024, Rimini will host the Conference on Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) 2024, the flagship event for S3 stakeholders coming from several regions of the EU Member States. The event has been organized by the European Commission Directorate General for Regional Policy and by the S3 CoP Secretariat, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region and support by Rimini Municipality.
The event is open to professionals, experts, political stakeholders and other key subjects who will meet to networking, discussing policies and implementing S3, exchanging information and good practices, as well as bringing together the regions defined as Regional Innovation Valleys under the New European Innovation Agenda (NEIA).
The S3 Conference 2024 is built around tree pillars:
- Successful S3 design and implementation;
- S3 and interregional collaboration;
- Smart Specialisation and its role for connecting Regional Innovation Valleys in key thematic areas identified in the New European Innovation Agenda.
The two-day event will include plenary discussion and laboratories on the first day, while on 12 December 2024 afternoon an event focused on local experiences related to S3 and the role of Regions in future European policies will take place.
