In the autumn of 2024, Trieste will host the next Big Science Business Forum (BSBF): an international congress focused on technological innovation, and an important meeting point between research and industry, aimed at bringing together Europe’s major Research Infrastructures.
Trieste was selected from a shortlist of candidates from various European countries. The project is the result of a joint effort by the national research organization Area Science Park, ILO Network Italia, National Coordination of Industrial Liaison Officers at the major international Big Science organizations (CNR, ENEA, INAF, INFN) and PromoTurismoFVG.
“The success of this candidacy is the success of the Trieste-city-of-science system with its interconnected network of scientific institutions, universities, organizations and world-class research infrastructures. The real accelerating force of research and innovation in a region such as Friuli Venezia Giulia, which is the hinge between Central and Eastern Europe, lies precisely in the network of collaborations between these institutions,” commented the President of Area Science Park, Caterina Petrillo.
The forum, which will be held at the Porto Vecchio conference centre in Trieste, will provide an opportunity to meet and discuss issues and needs in cutting-edge technologies related to Big Science, also in light of the major investment in research infrastructures made in the context of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
